The site was launched early
in 2000 as one of a whole
range of new features
designed to take the league
into the new Millennium...
The league has been in
existence for over 50 years
and has, over that period,
provided top quality
competition to both amateur
and professional players
throughout the Manchester
area.
The league is based on 5 man
teams competing on Thursday
evenings throughout the
season which runs from
September through until
June.
The matches and points
system used, mean that all
frames count and that all
players compete on an even
basis, particularly as the
handicap system is reviewed
on a monthly basis.
In addition to the league
competition there are a
range of individual handicap
and merit competitions, a
pairs competition and 3man
team and 5 man team
competitions.
All of the competitions
attract both prize money and
trophies with last years
payout topping £4000.
The league has this year
been instrumental in
establishing the North
West Federation of Snooker
Leagues.
This organisation will be
responsible for the running
of the highly acclaimed
Greater Manchester Inter
league tournament which
the league took control of
three years ago and which is
now the premier inter league
competition in the North
West of England.
Following the success of the
Toronto Tour In April 2002
where forty six league
representatives travelled to
Toronto Canada for a one
week tour, and a tour to
Vancouver in October
2003.
If anyone is interested in
joining the league and would
like to get involved in
events please mail us
manchestersnookerleague@hotmail.com.
Our thanks go out to our
league sponsors for this
season for their generous
support.
If you would like to find
out more about the league or
would like to become a

to hear from you.
We hope that you enjoy the
site and will visit again.
